Mindfulness
Simply put, mindfulness is all about being present in the here and now. Being intentionally aware of each moment with acceptance.
Mindfulness is a useful tool in helping you avoid returning to automatic habits by accepting your feelings and emotions in a non-judgemental way.
If you choose to have mindfulness as part of your individualised program at New Beginnings, this can be facilitated by trained staff, through academic learning groups and practical sessions.

Meditation
We can offer you different ways of meditating whether you are a beginner or an expert
✓ Sitting meditation – this involves sitting upright and relaxed being aware of each part of your body using scanning and breathing techniques
✓ Silent meditation lying or sitting in a relaxed position, shutting out external noise and being present in the here and now
✓ Guided meditation. This can either be through a recorded script or facilitated by qualified staff. We support you to relax using visual and aural prompts.
