Humanistic Therapy
What is Humanistic Therapy?
Humanistic therapy was developed in the late 1950s. It offers a more holistic view of human life, incorporating Carl Roger's person-centred therapy and Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. It aims to help you develop a strong sense of self. Explore your feelings and focus on your strengths. It looks at everything that makes you unique.
What Will the Session Entail?
Humanistic therapy is led by you. Looking at issues, feelings and goals you wish to explore. I will help you to recognise feelings and find potential in a non-judgmental manner. You are the expert on your feelings and issues. I will listen, understand and then support you to develop your potential. I will encourage you to become more self-aware.
Who can it help?
Humanistic therapy can help with a range of issues;
✓ Anxiety
✓ Depression
✓ Addiction
✓ Trauma
✓ Bereavement
✓ Low Self-esteem
What makes it different from other therapies?
Humanistic therapy focuses on the here and now rather than past experiences, it looks at the person rather than their diagnosis.
